The short answer
Before you book, slow everything down. A beautiful website is not a safety system. A responsible retreat should answer practical questions clearly, calmly and without pressure.
Questions to ask
- What medical and psychological screening happens before travel?
- Who reviews medication and health history?
- Who holds responsibility if a ceremony becomes difficult?
- What emergency plan exists on site?
- What training and experience do facilitators have?
- How is consent handled during vulnerable moments?
- What integration support exists after the retreat?
- What legal jurisdiction does the retreat operate under?
- What is included in the price?
- What would make them say no to a guest?
A careful final note
If a retreat avoids these questions, rushes you, promises a cure or makes everything sound easy, that is useful information. You do not need to book quickly.
